Why is Subaru not making the ‘Subaru Forester’ model in Australia?
With the Forester and its sibling, the Subaru BRZ, set to make its first official public appearance in Australia next month, the Australian market is brimming with the new Subaru models.
But there are a few questions that are still unanswered about the new models.
In the meantime, the Foresters were spotted by a group of reporters at a Subaru showroom in Perth and the car has since been sold to a local business.
The Forester’s engine has been upgraded, the front fascia has been reshaped, and a rear spoiler has been added to the rear.
The car is also getting a new colour scheme.
As far as we know, the car is being sold with a five-speed manual transmission.
However, Subaru has said the Forests production runs will be staggered, meaning it may be sold in a slightly different form, or sold in the same chassis as the Subaru Impreza WRX STI.
It is not yet known if the Forets new design will come with the same fuel-saving features found in the Imprezas.
The new Foresters are set to be launched in Australia in late September, but there have been no confirmed details on when they will be available to buy in Australia.
The Subaru ImPreza WRx STI was launched in July, but has not been widely available to purchase in Australia yet.
Subaru is not expected to release any information on the new Forests version until it is in the US, but its already been announced for 2018.
