In a new post, artist Emily Dye shares how to paint a tree in the forest using an aerosol can, a brush, a palette, a paintbrush, a mask, a little bit of glue, and a little of patience.
The technique, which is called “tree-lighting,” is not only a fun and easy way to transform your garden into a forest, it’s also an amazing way to bring nature back into your life.
Here’s how you can get started:1.
Choose a location that has lots of vegetation2.
Fill a large paint pot with water3.
Add an aerosoleptic can to the bottom of the can to allow for more spray4.
Place the aerosol container on the ground, about 4 feet (1.5 meters) away5.
Using a mask and paintbrush make a little “dust” with your mask6.
After a few seconds, use a brush to paint the part you want to do (e.g. a branch, tree trunk, or any other part of the forest)7.
Cover your mask with your palette or paintbrush to let the dust settle8.
Make your tree a tree-like object and paint it again9.
After several more seconds, add a little glue10.
After the glue has dried, reattach your mask and the aerosolep can.11.
After your tree has been fully painted, place it in the sun or in a container and let it grow to a full tree.
